Nepean Private Hospital is a 109-bed hospital providing high-quality care to Penrith and greater western Sydney since opening in July 2000. The hospital specialises in general surgery, maternity, orthopaedics, and urology. They recognise their integral and vital role as part of the local community. This is reflected in their local focus and excellent support programmes for patients and referring doctors.

Nepean Private Hospital is accredited by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS). The ACHS works with the Nepean Private Hospital to establish standards and procedures that underpin its primary goal to provide the best service and care.

The hospital has a strong commitment to meeting the community's needs and provides a wide range of services to cater for this. In addition, they offer a number of support programs designed to help patients and referring doctors. These include educational resources, financial assistance, and psychological support.

Building requirements

Nepean Private Hospital engaged ControlWorks to design, supply, install and support a new Building Management Control System (BMCS) to control and monitor the central heating and cooling plant. Tridium’s Niagara platform was chosen as the client’s graphical user interface (GUI). 

All temperature and humidity setpoints and other key items can be viewed and adjusted from the easy-to-use GUI interface.  All alarms are sent to the GUI in addition to critical alarms being sent to key staff members e-mail addresses and to a TAPI paging system. Key data is also available withing the trend logging screens within the GUI also assisting maintenance staff with breakdowns and routine maintenance.

Our Building Management Control System solution

The ControlWorks team designed and installed a new Building Management Control System (BMCS) to control and monitor the central heating and cooling plant.

The Tridium platform is scalable and capable of accommodating future growth, making it an ideal solution for the Nepean Private Hospital.
